First registered shoot of the new ATA target year

The first registered shoot on the new ATA target-year calendar (the year flips on September 1). Full three-day program over Labor Day weekend: singles, handicap, doubles. Six Week League finishers redeem their free event here, ATA + ISTA fees + targets all covered.

Before you enter

Bring a current ATA and ISTA card

For the 2027 target season, you must be a paid member of the ATA and the ISTA to shoot this tournament. The target year flips on September 1, so a card that carried you through the summer will not carry you through this weekend. Shooters responsibility

What the club asks of you

  1. By entering the grounds everyone agrees to abide by the ATA rules.
  2. Be ready to shoot. Squads will not wait for tardy members. If you miss your squad, we will help you resquad. No extra charge. Management may change the order of squads.
  3. Do not sign up in the last squads of a first event and the first squads of a second event. You will not make it. We do not stop the shooting between events, even while changing over to doubles.
  4. Check your score after each five targets. Know what a dead bird score looks like.
  5. Special categories, indicate at entry. Check the score board. Errors will be corrected upon discovery.
  6. Bring your plastic card. Average your scores. Declare your age and or category.
  7. Please tell the area business you're here for the shoot.
  8. Keep pets out of the club house. No smoking in main brick club house, sign up building, or under the awning.

Other stuff you ought to know

Read this once and you are set for the weekend

  • All ATA ($4.00), ISTA ($3.00) fees and targets are subject to county 1% and state 6% sales tax (7%).
  • 100 straight pins and patches are here. 100 straight doubles pins are given to first time achievers.
  • No prizes will be shipped. You or your representative may pick them up anytime up to one year anniversary of the event.
  • We are not responsible for accidents or theft or the weather.
  • We may alter the program during conditions beyond our control.
  • Entries and options can be refunded as long as you did not shoot.
  • All golf cart users must only be operated South of the main sidewalk. No golf carts allowed on the sidewalk during the events. Please no carts in front of the brick club house.
  • When it is your turn please close your guns so that the gun is not aiming at any of the voice release equipment. Cords are $75.00 and the control box is $400.00. Shoot it, you may own it.
  • Ear and eye protection rules enforced.
  • Open or out rule enforced along with all other safety rules.
  • Please use your shell bag. It costs the club to pick up your empties. Help us make this weekend event litter free!
  • Management has the right to move squads to balance the trap line at anytime any event.

Ackley, IA 50601. Off Iowa 57 between Iowa Falls and Ackley, south of US 65. The road in is single lane, so give yourself a few extra minutes on a full morning.
